The Gospel is the is the most important message God has spoken to man.  In the Gospel, we learn of Jesus, who is the Son of God.  We learn of God’s love and sacrifice that saves us from our sins. The Bible gives us the content of the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4,

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you— unless you believed in vain.  For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

The Bible says that we are all sinners (Roman 3:23). We have all broken God’s commandments and because of this, we are separated from our Holy God (Isaiah 59:2).  We are described as, dead in our sins (Ephesians. 2:3), we cannot please God (Romans 3:10-11), and we are heading to eternal judgment (2 Thessalonians 1:9) if we are not saved by Jesus alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

Since we are sinners, we are incapable of removing our sins through our own efforts.  The Apostle Paul said
Therefore no-one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by observing the law.   The Law is the “do’s and don’t’s” that God has given to man.  In other words, we can not become righteous by what we do. Why? Because we are incapable of keeping God’s Law perfectly. (Ephesians 2:3).  Since we cannot remove our own sins, God must do it for us.

Jesus Christ, who is both God and man,  came to earth to bear our sins on the cross (1 Peter 2:24).  He died as a substitute for every person who will repent of their sins and trust in Him alone for their salvation.  He paid the penalty we deserved for offending God.

If the true desire of your heart is to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ then you might be asking, what then, must I do?
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” is the Bible’s answer.  In faith toward the Lord Jesus, and a heartfelt desire to turn from anything which is against God’s will, commit yourself to the Lord Jesus, knowing that His death is sufficient to cleanse you from all your sin.  Hold only to the Lord Jesus and nothing else – trust Him to save you and give to you eternal life.  This is the Gospel message we believe and proclaim!
